Square Foot Garden

Matt and I have been talking about starting a garden so we decided this week to actually do it. I went to several websites and went to home depot to get the supplies. Matt and I build the boxes, I am proud to say no swearing or fighting the whole time!
The boys are so excited to have gardens they were great helpers while I went to the store and brought all the materials home. They actually helped drill and hold the wood before Matt got there.
We did a mixture of peet moss, composte and vermiculite so the boys thought the dirt was really cool and wanted to play in it.Jeffrey just couldn't understand why we were putting nails in but not all the way and then why we were tieing string to them. He was very curious but wanted to help nail.
Almost done!
Ta-da! I am so excited now I just have to wait until we can plant. We bought all the seeds: cucumbers, tomatos, potatos, carrots, corn, watermellon, onions, peas, greenbeans, peppers, summer squash, summer lettuce, and pumpkins.
Here are the starters for the tomatos, onions and peppers. I will keep you posted on whether or not it works!

1/2 Marathon

WOW!!! That was hard, awesome, emotional and exciting!! So we got there at 6 am and had to ride Trax up to the starting point. I am glad that everyone had showered or was at least SURE this morning. We got there in enough time to ditch our stuff and get stretched. They started counting down and we were off. It was a great run and even greater, Mindy stayed with me the whole time. It was awesome to cross the finish line holding hands with Mindy and then to have most of our family there to meet us. We both were very emotional and had to keep from crying a couple of times thinking about what we were doing. 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 29 minutes. We averaged about 11 minutes and 25 seconds a mile. The hardest was the last 3 miles but the last mile was a breeze cuz we knew we were done. Pics to come I have to get some from Mindy and download my camera. Just wanted you all to know I was alive and made it (ran the whole way).

1/2 Marathon

Ok so I am announcing it officially cuz Mindy really didn't believe I was doing it. I have paid and everything. I am in for the long haul and we only have 2 weeks left! AGH!!! If you want to come it starts at 7 and it will take me about 2.5 hours to run so be at the Gateway by 9 or 915 and you can see me stagger past the finish line.
