How rough is church basketball?????

Matt has been playing basketball with his work since last year. He loves it and has never gotten injured. Well a couple of months ago he started playing with the church men on Saturday mornings. So 3 Saturdays ago he jammed his pointer finger pretty bad but was able to put it back in place and still play. Then 2 Saturdays ago he jammed it again but this time was different. It swelled up really good and hurt him really bad. He wanted to go to the doctor but we didn't have insurance so I told him that was a waste of money and it probably was just really sprained. Ohhhh mann do I feel dumb! ITS BROKEN!!!!! I am so sorry honey! Here is the xray.
